Basic Requirements for Online Lessons

Online music lessons are done using a two-way video call between the student and teacher and requires a suitable internet connection, a computer, tablet or mobile phone and free software for Skype, Zoom or Facetime.

 

If the music tuition requires an instrument like a guitar or keyboard, the student must have their own instrument.

 

Skype and Zoom software / App is available for most devices, including Windows / Mac Computers, Tablets / iPads and Mobile Phones. To make a video call can require the student's parent to create an account.

 

FaceTime video calls can be made between two Apple devices like a Mac Computer, iPad or iPhone.

 

About the Teacher and Principal

At Children's Music Academy your child learns from one of the most highly trained and experienced music teachers in the Hills District.

 

The Principal Annette Anderson has a Bachelor of Music Education or B.Mus.Ed from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and an Associate Of Music Australia or  A.Mus.A  from the AMEB.  Annette is also a Sydney Conservatorium Accredited teacher and Department of Education Approved teacher with more than 20 years of teaching experience in preschools, primary schools and high schools. She has a great passion for music and a love of teaching children.

 

Annette has had broad experience teaching children in various educational settings and takes great interest in working personally with each child. Annette has also worked as an examiner for the Australian Music Examinations Board.

 

The Principal is present and teaching in all online lessons and means you don't have to worry about having different teachers every lesson, and you need not be concerned about the quality of teachers.

 

It is important to note that teacher qualifications and experience are vital when considering your child's musical progress and motivation. There is a big difference between a formally trained and accredited music teacher and a musician who has only completed a few AMEB exam grades!
